You have a great idea or see an opportunity that you want to pursue. As you feel motivated and excited to begin the next steps, something happens. There is a voice in your head that stops you. Then, the doubt, excuses, and rationalizations as to why it would never work begins to become the strongest conversation in your head. You decide it is not a good idea and choose not to pursue it.
When we see opportunities or ideas we should want to stretch ourselves to grow. Unfortunately there are times that we stop ourselves. The past narrative of lack, doubt, and fear creeps in and it doesn’t have to be this way. You were put on this earth to do amazing things. You have to believe in yourself, and know that you are capable and worthy to live your best life. As you are going through your new endeavor, visualize yourself succeeding, doing great, feeling good, and growing into your best self.
If you have a limiting belief around a certain area in your life, the following is an example of how you can turn it around into an affirmative and positive outcome so you can stay on a consistent path to making your dreams come true.
“I can’t come up with ideas to write.”
Counter and Affirmation:
“I am a body of creativity and my ideas are endless.” (Repeat this daily)
Where did the limiting belief come from?
I struggled as a child writing and my ideas were never good enough when they were presented. (Journal about it)
Then write how you mirror these behaviors and three things you will do to change. Also pray in this area for strength, direction, and awareness.
Three changes I will make (Schedule these in your planner)
- Recite affirmations
- I will choose to honor and write down my ideas when they come.
- I will schedule time to write and work with my ideas.
What do you do to release limiting beliefs? Let me know in the comments.
