I started yoga in high school. It was included in our of our sports requirements, I also played lacrosse. Balancing both, I fell in love with the practice. I learned a lot of techniques that would continue into adulthood. Although I haven’t been consistent, I have been practicing on and off. Through the years I’ve tried different types of yoga and my favorite is Kundalini. I started Kundalini yoga in 2013 and it helped extend my mindfulness, spiritual practice, and confirmed a lot of lifestyle rituals and habits that I work to stay consistent with daily.
If you are a beginner or never practiced yoga, I encourage that you try it and/or continue. Imagine your body and organs internally taking a breath of fresh air. The movements and positions in yoga will help your mind, body, and soul. There are many positions that help your full body, from organs, muscles, toning, thought process, and more. The benefits are endless. It is important to find an exercise that you enjoy and incorporate it into your lifestyle so you can stay healthy, aligned, and happy.
One thing I’ve never done is gone to a yoga retreat. It is on my to-do list. Most you know that I love visualization and manifestation. If I had to plan a dream yoga retreat I would love to have a weekend by the beach.
The retreat would consist of dawn and dusk yoga on the beach (Fiji), a circle of reflection, and journaling. Participants would be nourished with a colorful abundance of fruits and vegetables with community cooking sessions. There would be late night and early meditation on the beach with bonfires of storytelling, sharing, and soothing soul revitalization. Manifestation and visualization sessions along with reiki, massage, and facials would be included. Participants would leave with a renewed purpose, new friends that are now family, and memories that will last forever. This retreat is an experience of personal searching, growth, and restoration.
To celebrate National Yoga Month in September, Calming Corners will be hosting an intimate yoga and journaling class. Please stay tuned for details. You will be able to register though Eventbrite.
What perfect retreat do you visualize?
