There are times when it is difficult to get to sleep. Just like a morning ritual a night-time ritual is just as important. Our days are busy, we are multi-tasking, distracted, and in information overload. When it is time to sleep, we have to embrace and honor our down time so our bodies can rest and effectively repair itself and function well while we sleep.
When it is time to wind down at night, create a ritual of peace and relaxation. Some activities you can try are reading, writing, meditating, taking a bath, breathing exercises, yoga poses, and drinking tea such as peppermint and chamomile. Activities you will want to avoid are watching television, scrolling your phone, and eating and drinking sugar and caffeinated infused drinks.
