Many times when we are going through a difficult situation, it can take a toll on our thought process and focus. We’ve all been there whether it is health, a job, or relationship. Understand that this too shall pass. I remember a time I was going through it and drowning in the ocean of emotion. I focused so much on what was going wrong, I didn’t see some of the amazing things that was actually going great in my life at the time.
I also realized that I was sabotaging many positive situations in my life. I knew that I needed to snap out of it and fast. I started to focus on what is important, who is important, and release the things that no longer served a purpose in my life. Personal turmoil is never fun as you are going through it, but when the lessons are revealed it is a great feeling. There is usually a hard lesson that comes with a big blessing. I am so thankful for the situation because I am wiser and stronger. Here are some ways that you can regain your peace of mind.
Honesty: Seek the truth. Please be completely honest with yourself. We all know the difference between right and wrong. Ask the difficult questions and reply honestly. If you can’t do it, call that friend 🙂 we all have one! Although you may not like the answer and you may have to release some things, you will grow in a positive direction.
Prayer/Meditation: Ask for guidance, clarity and direction.When you meditate you will get the answers you are seeking it is essential that you pay attention and move accordingly.
Thoughts: Your thoughts are the gateway to your future. Living in the past will do nothing for you. Convincing yourself that something is right when you know it is wrong will cause confusion. If you are not clear start with baby steps, get a piece of paper and write down your thoughts as they come in your mind. You will be surprised what comes out.
Relationships: I come across a lot of people. I can say I have a keen instinct and can read people pretty well. I will also say that I let very few people in. This is another area where I got off track. Through this experience, I learned that people are a bit like the circus. At times, everything seems bright, many faces are put on to attract, and some folks are a pure distraction. People are in your life for a reason, season or a lifetime. Figure it out and know it is okay to let go of individuals who don’t deserve a place in your life. The universe will reveal it to you. I have learned, no matter how many interactions you have with someone, your first instinct is 99.9% right.
Focus: We are on this earth for a purpose. It is your job to find it and follow your path. Following your dreams is a difficult thing to do. Once they start to come true it is a wonderful feeling. It is hard at times, stay focused on your goals and don’t let anyone or anything take you off track. Time doesn’t wait for anything or anyone. We all have the power to do great things but it starts with a spiritual foundation and mental strength. Don’t let anyone take your power away.
