It’s been a long day. You are ready for a good night sleep, as you get in bed to get some shut eye, you quickly realize that your eyes won’t shut. You find yourself tossing and turning stressed and restless. There are some ways to cure the sleepy time blues. If you want some solid sleep, try yoga. You don’t have to be a yogi or regular student to try the poses, simply begin by adding them to you evening routine.
Plow Pose: This pose is known to calm the brain, reduce stress, and helps relive backache, headache, and insomnia. The plow pose also stimulates the thyroid gland and abdominal organs and stretches the spine and shoulders. Feel free to use your hands to support your lower back.
Cobra Pose: The cobra pose is known to elevate mood, opens the chest, improves digestion, increase flexibility, improves circulation of blood and oxygen as well as relieve stress. This pose also improves menstrual irregularities and firms and tones the buttocks.
Pigeon Pose: This powerful pose is known to release emotion. We tend to hold emotions in our hips, so if you have a response it is completely normal. This pose stretches the thighs, groins and psoas, abdomen, chest and shoulders, and neck. It also stimulates the abs.
